Workshop Description

CAN has been the leader in developing progressive and unique career and employment related workshops in the Red Deer and Central Alberta area by researching and providing information and curriculum on new trends in Career Development. After observing a sharp increase in the use and demand for portfolios within numerous sectors, industries and even post-secondary institutions; CAN created the Portfolio Development Workshop in order to assist those individuals needing this type of resource.

This one day workshop allows participants to gain a broad understanding of portfolios  their various uses and benefits.  Participants will be facilitated through the four major ares of instruction including:

  1. What is a Portfolio?
  2. What should go into a my Portfolio?
  3. What image should my Portfolio present?
  4. How can I use my Portfolio during my work search?

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be booked for a 1-on-1 appointment with an Employment Specialist who will develop a professional portfolio package from the content developed by the participant. The finished package will include a binder and all artwork / section dividers so that all the participants need to do is collect and insert their personal documentation / information.
